Top 5 benefits of using a bullet journal
I love my bullet journal. It helps me stay organised and keep my notes in one place
premade planners have never worked for me and I never stuck with them.
I also like to be creative, so starting a bullet journal from scratch is more my thing.
So what are the benefits of using a bullet journal?
Here are my top 5
1/ Fully customisable
A brand new bullet journal comes with dot grid pages so that you can design your spreads and decorate them as you wish.
The one that I am using is a pink “Scribbles that matter” book and I love the subtle decorated cover and that the pages are thick to allow different types of pens.
At first, those blank pages were intimidating but I soon got over that hurdle. I realised that it didn’t matter how I decorated it. It didn’t have to look instagram ready because it was only for me and no one else.

2/ Everything all in one place
All those ideas that float around in your head don’t need to keep you awake at night because you can get them all out and into your bullet journal. No more lost notes on scraps of paper or lost mini notebooks. No more forgotten appointments because you didn’t write them down.
When I have a thought or when I need to remind myself of anything, it all goes into my bullet journal in a spread that I have named “All the things”. This is a spread where I write all the things that come to me while I am working.
3/ Mental health
The act of putting pen to paper activates that special little part of your brain, the part that doesn’t get used when you are typing it out.
Keeping a bullet journal can also help you track your health and well being. For example, I have seen people using trackers in their journals to track their sleep, their water intake and the books they are or have read.
Other people use it to organise their thoughts and feelings in morning pages. But whatever you use yours for, it will have a positive effect on your mental health in the long run.
You don’t have to be an artist to have a perfect put together page spread. It doesn’t have to be perfect either. If you can’t draw then use stickers like I do. I can draw but I still prefer to decorate my journal with stickers. My favourites are the fashion girls I created myself.

5/ Budget friendly
You don’t have to spend a fortune on your bullet journal if you are on a strict budget, but you can if that floats your boat.
A simple dotted page notebook will do just fine. All you have to do is to decorate it with whatever you want to decorate it with to make it unique to you.
